Introduction:

This qualification is suitable for delivery in England. It is expected that this course will be completed within 6 weeks of the start date.
Requirements
You must be working in a suitable role and have responsibility for administering medication to the people that you support. This will most likely be in a residential or nursing home, domiciliary care or a day centre. You must be aged 16 and over, however, it is important to stress that you must be working in an appropriate role with medication responsibility. If you are not working in a role where you administer medication, you will not be able to provide the necessary evidence.
Assessment
This qualification requires the learner to provide written evidence of their knowledge and understanding, which is provided by completing the Savvy workbook and returning for assessment by your allocated assessor or by using our e-portfolio platform. You will also need to provide a Savvy Observation Record and an in-house competency assessment, which will be completed by a senior member/s of your team who is/are in a supervisory position.
We can make reasonable adjustments to assessment methods if required to support personal learning needs, this can be arranged following discussion. Please complete our website contact form if you would like to have a chat about how we can support your learning style and needs.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE!
If you are not in a geographical area covered by our assessment team, you must be able to arrange to have your Observation completed by a qualified assessor. This may be a member of your staff team. Simulation and remote observation is not permitted by our Awarding Organisation. Please contact us for more information and guidance.
ID Requirements:
Savvy has a responsibility to ensure that the person taking the course is who they say they are.
To achieve this we will require proof of your identity. This could include any one of the following:
● a valid passport (any nationality)
● a signed UK photocard driving licence
● a valid warrant card issued by HM forces or the police
● another photographic ID card, e.g. employee ID card, student ID card, travel card etc.
If you are unable to produce any of the forms of photographic identification listed above, a centre may accept another form of identification containing a signature, for example, a credit card. Identification by a third-party representative, such as a line manager, human resources manager or invigilator, will also be accepted.
Additional support/training:
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) is a police unit that works alongside the Home Office to support the ‘protect and prepare’ areas of the government’s counterterrorism strategy. One of their aims is to encourage the public to recognise and report suspicious activity and behaviour. You can find information, advice and guidance on recognising, acting on and reporting suspicious behaviour on the following website: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/national-counter-terrorism-security-office.
On completion
When you have completed your qualification, we have quality assurance processes that we must complete to ensure that our learners are fully supported and can rely on the quality of their qualification. This means that it can be up to 6 weeks before you receive your certificate, usually sooner. Certificates are produced on-line by our awarding organisation and will be emailed to you as soon as they are available to us! We know how important they are!
